Yes, I've not been here in a couple of years. Well, I'm part of a photo project that I've managed to stick to for this year, so I've decided to post the photos here too and backdate them. :)

Soon there will be photos!

Edited to add:

And now there are photos. :) I have put up all of the photos that I posted onto the TORC 365 Project (at Shire and Shutter) and backdated them all.

I believe that means that to see them, you will need to go to my calendar page and view the older entries, but at least they are all there now. :)

I've been up visiting my parents in Scotland for the past week. I took lots of photographs and had a hard time deciding on one to post here. :D The rest can be seen on my Flickr account here: Scotland Collection

This was taken on the Campbell's Glen walk, about halfway along. The entire walk looked like this. Because it had rained quite a bit, everything was very lush and green, and the rivers and burns were gushing with water.

So, I was all set on posting the teapot photograph for Saturday and then yesterday I walked into the spare room to give my orchid a wee bit of water and I did a double-take! The reason for it was this:

Here's a couple of close-ups because I couldn't resist. :D

Hello! Well, as I had two photos this week, I'm slotting the extra one in, which handily makes up for the first Saturday of the year that I missed.

On my days off, I like enjoying a cup (or two) of Lapsang Souchong tea whilst catching up on the internet first thing in the morning. I saw this little teapot a few weeks ago whilst shopping for something else, and just couldn't resist the cheery brightness. The cup sitting beside it I got for Christmas when I was eight and living in British Columbia. I love that cup. :D

So, it's not the best photograph, I'm afraid. I took it on my phone and with the bright sunshine outside, it hasn't come out wonderfully. However, I completely forgot that today was Saturday, so I haven't taken a decent photo. This one is from last week.

So this is where I work. :) Where all the maritime search and rescue coordination is done for our district. :)

I went to my cousin's wedding reception last night. It was right after work, so I was a wee bit tired and wearing high heels with a dodgy ankle meant that although I had taken my camera, I wasn't feeling inclined to wander about taking photos.

In the end, I only took two!

This is one of the table decorations after they had cleared the centre area for the dancefloor. All the table decorations and flowers were cream and white. In the background is the table for the food, which was a hog roast with potatoes and coleslaw and salad.

The view from the terrace was amazing and we had a great view of the sunset (although the food was being dished out at the time, so I think a lot of people didn't even notice!)

The wind has been blowing and blowing this week, and of course, it's been the prevailing westerlies. Which mean that where our coastguard station is based is on a lee shore. This is the view from my "office" a couple of days ago. A little bit different from the sunset of a couple of weeks ago!

So, technically this isn't my photo, although I did take one. This is one that a colleague of mine took. As his came out slightly better, I thought I'd use his instead. *g*

This is the Stavros S Niarchos, a British sail training ship, on her way out of the Port of Liverpool. This photo was taken through our binoculars, hence the spots and also the darkness on the top right corner.

Here's a link to the ship's website, if you want to know more. :)

We went up to Glasgow this weekend and stopped at an independent service station situated in the middle of the Lake District. Whilst we were there, I thought I'd snap a couple of photos to show you the view.

The service station is independent, as I say, and is a great place to stop. They've got a farm food shop with locally produced food and there's also a path for walking your dog. On a lovely day, sitting outside, watching the ducks on the duck pond and enjoying the view.

Here's the link to the services, just so you can see how lucky we are! :D Tebay Services

So I promised something much better this week, and I hope I have delivered. :)

This was taken from work on a night shift. The weather had been glorious and therefore so had the sunsets. I missed a great photo opportunity the previous day when a tall ship was sailing out of the Mersey, so I was determined to take my camera the next day. This is the result.

Sometimes working the night shift has its rewards. :)
